I guess, an explanation of the club's motto "droit au but" would be adroit ;) .

--Dionysostom 14:51, 2 May 2007 (UTC) : No, it really means going straight to the goal.

Oalexander-En 07:21, 13 February 2006 (UTC)

I think that droit au but could also be translated as "straight to the goal". In French is used the same word for right (à droite) and straight (tout droit). Fixture 23:12, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

--Dionysostom 14:51, 2 May 2007 (UTC) : You're right.

[edit] match fixing scandal

The assertion that The whole scandal has since been debunked as an hoax. needs a reference, or preferably several. Oldelpaso 10:42, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

Having googled for it, I've found no claims or evidence for the above, so I will remove it. Oldelpaso 10:49, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

--maybe we should mention the fact that some of the players were using anabolic steroids during the champions league final victory in 93

--Dionysostom 14:51, 2 May 2007 (UTC) no one can say that. If it was a real fact, we would have seen some prosecutions.

It's not a fact, yet... It hasn't been proved and it would be hard to prove... If you want to had something, you could say Jean-Jacques Eydelie has declared ..... Cperroquin (talk) 19:01, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] moved from main page

It must be added that "The rivalry is largely based on political differences (especially regarding immigration and minority rights), with PSG traditionally representing the right-wing and Marseille traditionally representing the left." as said in the top of the page is obviously wrong. Some far-right-wing supporters (about 100-200, parked in the down part of Boulogne Kop) are part, unfortunately, of those of Paris Saint-Germain but should never be regarded as representing anything more than themselves. You might even divide the two kops of Paris Saint-Germain, one that should be more right-wing (not far-right) and the other that is assumedly left-wing (even far-left). At the opposite, there is no real political tendency for Marseilles supporters, as the club has been the most popular in France, and definitely the club of his whole city, even for the 30-35pc who vote far-right. Thank you to correct the introduction.

--Dionysostom 14:51, 2 May 2007 (UTC) The rivalry is only based on the opposition between the Capital City and provincial Towns. It isn't just about football.

[edit] Pronunciation of "Marseille"

I'm wondering what the pronunciation of the team is, [maʀsɛj] or [mɑxˈsɛjɐ], thanks --Manop - TH 20:35, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

--Dionysostom 14:51, 2 May 2007 (UTC)You can say both. The second one is the local way.

[edit] History expansion

I've expanded the section "history", translating from the French wikipedia and so I delete the template for expansion.Hope it would be OKbut I surely can do more for recent years. User talk:Latouffedisco

[edit] flamini

could someone maybe add mathieu flamini to the list of notable players? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.40.86.155 (talk) 15:42, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

I don't know if a player hated by Marseille fans can be added to the list of notable players
