[edit] Script Question

Hello! I had a question about the script you wrote to convert japanese characters to unicode values. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Scripts#Unicode_numeric_converter_scripts) I was wondering why you would need to use the tool? I havn't done editing in japanese, but in chinese at least i havn't had any encoding issues as yet. If i remember correctly, the wikimedia software even converts what was initially entered to utf-8 (although i may be imagining this). But in any case, if you could explain a little about what the script is useful for it would be very helpful to me. Thanks!

Keith - At one point in the past, Safari and the wikipedia software wasn't able to do the UTF-8 conversion, so editing was difficult. That is all.

Thanks for that link! -- Olof
I merged the page histories of {{State of matter}} and {{Phase of matter}} back together. Cheers, —Ruud 15:01, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
