[edit] Commercial use of Image:MyDataBus.com logo.JPG

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:MyDataBus.com logo.JPG, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:MyDataBus.com logo.JPG has a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission, which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3). While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:MyDataBus.com logo.JPG itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 19:06, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] MyDataBus

A tag has been placed on MyDataBus, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -WarthogDemon 19:11, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] MyDataBus

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article MyDataBus, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. -WarthogDemon 20:22, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Tagging of several pages for deletion as spam

The pages you are tagging do indeed have a problem that makes them sound like an ad - but they don't qualify for speedy deletion as insalvageable. I realize you're frustrated that your site was deleted - however, yours didn't necessarily assert its notability. If you believe you can find third party sources for the page you created, I suggest deletion review - but as it is, please don't tag these other pages (the tagging smells of an article we have, Don't disrupt Wikipedia in order to prove a point). I hope this helps, and thanks for contributing. The Evil Spartan 19:03, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Now you are definitely disrupting Wikipedia to prove a point. Seriously, use WP:DRV, or stop. As it stands, if you send it to DRV, you just might win your case, if you can provide third-party sources (I found two: [3]). But seriously, stop tagging other articles now. The Evil Spartan 19:14, 13 August 2007 (UTC
I appreciate your comments and will stop tagging sites for speedy deletion. However, the myDataBus page I composed was tagged for speedy deletion almost immediately, and it contained more thorough references than many other Wikipedia entries I found on similar free file storing/hosting services. Please, I am not asking for favoritism, just an even playing field. Ollie990 19:18, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
I'm not an administrator, so I don't have access to the deleted page. Try WP:DRV - at very least it might get undeleted. Or, as it was speedy deleted for spam, you could actually just recreate the page, and it would technically not be speedyable again. The Evil Spartan 19:24, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
Thanks so much for your comments/advice. I have submitted an undeletion request at WP:DRV. Ollie990 19:41, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] FileFront

It seems like a bit of an advertisement, yes, but my original overhaul on the article was deemed quite neutral by those whom read it. Would it be practical to revert back to my edit from quite a number of months ago, or is that not considered good natured? RevenDS 22:27, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

I'm sorry, I'm not an administrator, so I don't really know the answer to that. FileFront's wiki deletion is currently being discussed on a deletion discussion page. You can find a link to this deletion discussion page in the box at the top of the FileFront entry ("this article's entry" for deletion). Ollie990 14:14, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
