[edit] Four championships in a row

He started in saloon cars in the Scottish XR2 Championship in 2004 winning the title first time out.[citation needed] Despite racing against experienced campaigners and circuit instructors, his closest rival was chief instructor Ian Forrests son, Sandy. With this championship success behind him Oly jumped up into the Scottish Mini Championship, and won back to back titles.[citation needed] He was almost untouchable around the championships Scottish base at Knockhill. Although is success is undeniable he was hardly going to catch the eye of any touring car bosses in a championship based around local track Knockhill, so Oly took the plunge and enetered the MINI Challenge, again racing a Mini but this time he wouldn't have the security of racing on the track he know so well. Oly did not need this security winning the S class championship to achieve four championships in a row,[citation needed] he also heads the overall standing with two rounds left to go.

The field was made up of the best performers from all the MINI Championships from around the world. Although the overall podium was locked out my BMW blessed drivers Oly did an incredible job to finish 6th overall,[citation needed] leaving the drivers from the British Mini Challenge trailing in his wake.
