Oliver Kraas

Oliver Martin Kraas (born April 18, 1975 in Germiston) is a South African Olympic athlete. In the 2006 Winter Olympics, he became the first South African to participate in Nordic events. Since 2004 he is starting at the FIS (International Ski Federation) Cross-country skiing Worldcup events, spezialized on Nordic Sprint races. His best Worldcup result is a 38th place at FIS Sprint Worldcup Oberstdorf 2006.

As so called "Small Nations Athlete" (Non-traditional Skiing Nations), he struggle in the middle of the pack to qualify for the final heats (top 30).
