Oleg Dmitriyevich Kononenko (Russian: Олег Дмитриевич Кононенко) was born June 21, 1964, in Chardzhou, Turkmen SSR.
Currently, Kononenko is the Flight Engineer 1 on both the Expedition 17 mission to the International Space Station and the Soyuz TMA-12 mission that brought him there. His mission was launched on 8 April 2008 and is scheduled to last to October of that year.
