Oleane was one of the first ISPs in France, created in 1990, from UUCP technology. Firstly, connected to PSINet, with Telebit modems, international connectivity move to UUNet in 1991. Real IP connection arrives in 1992, with a direct PIPEX (UK) 64 Kbps link.
Oleane was created by Jean-Michel Planche, with the precious help of fantastic guys : Paul Rolland, Jean-Pierre Le Couedic, Christophe Wolfhugel, Benoit Grangé.
Oleane was sold in mars 1998 to France Telecom, and ceased to exist as an independent IP services provider around june 2006, being fully renamed as Orange Business services.
