Old Street Roundabout is located in the London Borough of Islington and is an interchange system linking City of London, West London, East London and North London at EC2.

[edit] City of London Direction
This direction towards City of London is City Road heading southbound towards the Square Mile. In this direction you are also heading towards Moorgate and Liverpool Street Stations. This area is in the London Congestion Charge zone. Further beyond you can end up in South London if you follow a more osuthern direction from the Square Mile across the River Thames.

This direction heads towards West London is Old Street westbound which goes towards the West End and goes into the main Central London District and enters the London Borough of Camden. This direction passes Holborn and Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Street. It also comes across London Chinatown. Beyond it goes into the more expensive areas of London, Chelsea and Kensington passing landmarks such as Natural History Museum and also Heathrow Airport.

This direction heads towards East London is Old Street eastbound which goes towards the East End and into the London Borough of Hackney. This direction goes towards Shoreditch and Dalston. It also comes across the famous Asian street known as Brick Lane which is famous for its culture and its centre, Banglatown. Further beyond from here you can reach Clapton, Leyton and Walthamstow. The local airport in East London is London City Airport for short haul European flights, not far from Old Street Roundabout.

This direction heads towards North London is City Road Northbound. In this direction you are heading towards Angel, King's Cross, St Pancras, Euston or just off the A1200 route head towards Holloway and Archway which is considered as the link road between London and the North of the country and therefore from Highbury Corner is known as the A1. Beyond this point you can end up heading towards Paddington, Barnet and Wembley depending if you use the A501 route route or A1200 route from Old Street Northbound.

Old Street Station is below Old Street Roundabout and runs the London Underground and consists of the Northern Line and a First Capital Connect Service.
