Old Fart

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Old Fart is a brand of French wine produced in the Languedoc region. The wine label is unusual for a French wine in that it prominently presents the brand name and the variety of grape from which the wine is produced. Although the geographic region is stated as required by law, it is minimized. This is consistent with market demand; most New World wine consumers prefer brand and varietal labeling.

Red Bicyclette and FAT bastard are two other French brands and Yellow tail (wine) is an example from Australia. All of the producers involved have achieved success through emphasizing brand and grape variety on their labeling.
