I can also add that the last one on the right column is from Paradise Kiss.

Upper right is from The Time-Leaping Girl. But I noticed something: we don't see any big eyes in the right column. Big eyes are still very much a part of anime, they're just drawn differently now. Brutannica (talk) 02:43, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

• Gally (known as Alita in the North American version) from Gunnm (1992)
• Misa Hayase from Macross (probably The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Flash Back 2012, since it looks similar to the picture here -- 1987)
• Gabimaru Rikiya and some chick (no clue who) from Cyber City Oedo 808 (1990 - 1991)

• RIGHT COLUMN

• Makoto Konno from The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (2006)
• Sakura Haruno from Naruto (2002 - 2007)
• Colonel Roy Mustang from Fullmetal Alchemist (2003 - 2004)
• Miwako Sakurada from Paradise Kiss (2005)

I really don't see any difference, aside from the fact that the images on the left are grainier. Unless the point of the image was to show that animation styles haven't changed, this image isn't helpful at all. -134.84.102.237 (talk) 07:56, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Well... to be honest, it's kind of hard to see differences in anime styles until you've watched a lot of it. It's pretty hard to point them out; you just get used to them after a while. Brutannica (talk) 02:00, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

There actually is a few differances that are sorta noticable. Such as how old anime seemed to have more shadows on the face and alot of detail of the character itself, while the new anime has more detailed backgrounds, less shadows on the clothes and faces, and rounder faces.
