[edit] Name

This article title lists his family name first. Wikipedia policy is to list all given names first. Therefore, the article should be called "Yasukata Oku" if Oku is his family name. Cla68 02:53, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Manual of Style (Japan-related articles) policy, established over much discussion, is that people born before the start of the Meiji period (1868) are always to be listed in Japanese traditional order, i.e. family name, given name. As Oku was born before the start of Meiji, the naming of the article is correct as is. --MChew 14:34, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
