Okpella is a kingdom situated along Okene Abuja federal high way road, it is a town in Edo State and one of the towns that completed the three town that comprises the Etsakor East Local Govt. of Edo State. Okpella is known with it natural minerals resources among which is the lime stone, calcium, granites etc. Okpella is very rich in mineral resources, but the resources are not properly managed due to corrup politics by the government of Edo State.
During the colonial rule, Okpella was divided into two and was administered by Chief Sado and Afegbua. Sado was more prominent among the two chief due to his educational background and was the 1st catholic that was baptized in the catholic church in Nigeria.
Among his contribution to Okpella kingdom was the unification of okpella into one clan which the appointment of His Royal Highness The Okuopelagbe of Okpella clan Alhaji AYE Dirisu the present Okuopellagbe of Okpella.
