I think you've got the nominal and real prices mixed up. --Michael C. Price talk 23:02, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- Fixed, I see. Great! --Michael C. Price talk 07:48, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
For adding in the 2008 data I would propose using the monthly average as posted on EIA's website. If the average for a given year is taken to be approximately the value in the middle of the year (June) and the average for a month taken to occur in the middle of a month (the 15th), then the average for January, 2008 could be placed at 2007+(6.5/12). This provides a slight discontinuity, but still illustrates values where they should be. Just a suggestion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.74.163.102 (talk) 21:03, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Sourcing for this chart
I think the data in this chart is from the BP Statistical Review of World Energy. (The DOE file has a source citation to BP in it.) Check out the publicly-available excel spreadsheet data file at www.bp.com/statisticalreview.com
(I'm a member of the team that prepares BP's annual Statistical Review...)
