- Originally routed from Guysville to Stewart. [2]
- Stewart to 2 miles east of Amesville was unnumbered before 1938. [2]
- Amesville to Trimble was route 280 from 1931-62. [2]
- Extended to 2 miles east of Amesville along previous unnumbered road in 1938. [2]
- In 1962, extended to Trimble along route 50A from 2 miles east of Amesville to Amesville and previous route 280 from Amesville to Trimble. [2]
