Talk:Oglethorpe University
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Should we mention the character Oglethorpe in "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" was named after the university (as well as his partner-in-crime Emory)? 168.230.48.248 16:59, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
- Go for it. Perhaps start a new "References in popular culture" section toward the end of the article. --Dmleach 14:46, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
Things to add
- Campus traditions (Boar's Head, Stomp the Lawn, Geek Week)
- Old campus
- Campus as a living memorial, Oglethorpe's remains
- Matt says the belltower is the only operating carillon in Georgia
- Use the university infobox template
- University crest and logo
[edit] 2006-07 basketball team
I'm reluctant to have information as temporary as the current basketball team's roster in an encyclopedic article about the University. The information felt out of place to me, especially given the way it was presented ("...plans to lead the Stormy Petrels to a conference championship..."). I'd expect to see text like that on a fan page or even the University's website, but not in a reference work. --Dmleach 18:19, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
