The concept is not completely clear, the definition confuses the origin with the broad term "ode" means nowadays. And yeah, the spelling says a lot about the writer of the article. There's a worst mistake, because it is a link, so it appears highlighted, and that's the plural of "elegy", here spelled "elegys" instead of "elegies". Katie Anderson should consider the imporance of wikipedia for global consultation and how serious that is in her future contributions to the page.

There ought to be a section on the formal elements and definition of odes. What is required for a poem to be considered an ode?

agreed

"Pop Music" section...is it really necessary? Just because the song title has "Ode" in it doesn't make it an ode, by formal definition. Bsumlin 08:42, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

Agreed, the Pop Music section seems useless. This page, as it now stands, is a discussion of a poetic form and its

famous examples. A section listing relevant songs which contain the word "ode" is not relevant, especially considering, of the songs I'm familiar with on the list, none of them are proper odes.

Perhaps I should not have done, but I simply deleted the "Poetry Ode" section in disgust. It appeared simply to be some uneducated person's opinions about what an "ode" was.

I'm somewhat appalled at the spelling errors in here. Just did a "miner" spell check and found out that one of the poems was written by a "miner" poet.
