October 22 Group

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The October 22 Group (Italian: Gruppo XXII Ottobre) was an Italian terrorist grouping, instituted on October 22, 1969.

It was lead by Mario Rossi, who received a life sentence in 1973 for killing a messenger in September of 1971.[1]

The Red Brigades in 1978 would demand the release of three of the October 22 members from prison, in exchange for the release of Italian prime minister Aldo Moro, who the Red Brigades had captured and later shot.[2]
