Oberstleutnant

Oberstleutnant is the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) equivalent to Lieutenant Colonel, above Major, and below Oberst. During World War II, the SS maintained an equivalent rank known as Obersturmbannführer.
There are two paygrade associated to the rank of Oberstleutnant. Paygrade A14 is the standard level paygrade whereas A15 is assigned to senior Oberstleutnant personal.
Abbreviation: OTL (or OTL i.G. for General Staff Member). The rank is used for members of the Germany Army (Heer) and the German Air Force (Luftwaffe).
