The Oakham to Kettering Railway Line is a railway line in central England. It generally used for freight. It is used however as a diversion for other passenger routes and for the occasional excursion.

The highlight of the route is the Welland Viaduct where the line crosses the Welland valley between Rutland and Northamptonshire.

Proposals to open the route for passenger traffic and opening new stations (particularly at Corby) have been discussed for years without result. However, recently there have been promises of services from Corby railway station by 2008. In the meantime, it is undergoing a £1.4 million revamp [1]

Historically the line formed a major part of the Midland Main Line between London St Pancras, Nottingham, Leeds and Scotland hosting regular named expresses such as the The Waverley.
