O'Carroll

O'Carroll is an Irish family name with significant historical importance. One member of the family, or sept, was a signatory of the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America. "Ely O'Carroll," from the general area of modern day Birr, was probably the most important of the five septs of the clan, others being located in County Kerry and County Kilkenny.
