[edit] To anyone reading this article

This is going to be a very incremental process on my part, as I'm not entirely an expert on all of the workings of O2Jam (in part because I can't understand the website at all). If anyone who's reading this happens to be an O2Jam player and would like to collaborate on getting this article looking real nice, let me know on my talk page. Thanks in advance! :) Mo0[talk] 08:21, 12 May 2005 (UTC)

Well, this is a great start on an article, however, a good portion of this is a "how-to", something that generally shouldn't be in a wikipedia article. I'm going to see what I can do to further improve this article if you don't mind (If you're still watching this article... it's been a few months). Kil 18:34, 16 November 2005 (UTC)
Actually... after giving it a thorough read, there really isn't any problem with the article the way it's going. My mistake, heh. Still, I'll try and expand on this all some more. Kil 18:38, 16 November 2005 (UTC)
Actually...O2Jam is first developed in Korea, but not Malaysia. But don't worry, I have already made changes of this page.I am an ex-O2Jam player in Hong Kong, named Atom. 2 January 2006
The HOW TO part should be removed, or heavily edited, it really looks weird and out of place for a Wikipedia article. The article should focus more on explain what is O2Jam and what sets it apart from other music games. Think people might come to the article to know what the hell is O2Jam. -Kylecito. 21 January 2006
Why the infobox cannot be shown correctly?? abbychau 6 May 2006
Someone broke it by adding capitals to every parameter. It's fixed now; just remember that infobox parameters are case-sensitive. Kil 19:08, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
Hi, I just noticed this entry on Wikipedia, and realized that much more information can be updated. I have access to Chinese sources so that might help as well. Arkansaw 17:15, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Keyboard Controversy

I've seen on YouTube about people having their keyboards broken and unusable after excessive play of O2Jam. Is this just an expression or does the keyboard controversy actually happen? WikiJhoto 22:51, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

If you beat on your keyboard hard enough, I don't see why not. I'm only level 14 and I tend to just mash S, D, F, Spacebar, J, K, and L when all the notes come in quick succession. I'm sure it's far more intense on the harder levels (I barely survive when I play games in the 2nd server). « SCHLAGWERKTalk to me! 22:43, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
Well, I mean, I'm level 35 (on hiatus), and have had the same keyboard for three years, but I know personally someone who broke their keyboard just from playing O2Jam. Honestly, I doubt that the game is causing this. I think people are just too violent with their keyboards. Certainly nothing that deserves mention in the article. Cabij 22:14, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
Well, im level 50. I think the keyboard controversy is not acceptable. O2jam is not responsible for any keyboard crashes. It is not a valid claim. Can i request for this to be taken off? (Kerukelw)
Well, the Keyboard Controversy is certainly NOT true for those who know how to play O2Jam safely and correctly. It isn't in the article anyway. --Chininazu12 15:08, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] What The!? Champion of O2Jam?

I must resent that this so called talented young man can be THAT good. Seriously, There are 11 year olds in Korea who full combo the song Earthquake in Hard Mode!! Check out www.youtube.com to find out! Besides, in other countries there are soooo many O2jam professional players like my brother who is 12 years old for example.

there is someone in the Philippines who had fced earthquake and end of fight she is only 15 and her ign is asia —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.1.18.241 (talk) 11:26, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Also in the philippines.. A player Fced Earth Quake and End of Fight with less than 100 goods.. and he is also 15 Years old.. His IGN is Euphoria11

Also from the Philippines.. Someone FCed an almost unfcable song entitled Identity.. Her IGN: is Matsuri.. Background of this player is unknown.. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nayou (talk • contribs) 03:56, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Korean Servers

Could anyone playing on O2Jam Korea check the information about the Korean Servers? Hetcenus 02:56, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Song list (work in progress)

To do:

  1. Indicate sources of non-Korean song names under "Others" done
  2. Include all known unofficial English/Chinese song names done
  3. account for the structure (*.ojm *.ojn) and numbering of O2Jam song files
  4. account for some variations of the same song (by ID) on different servers: song variations having different difficulty levels and note counts
  5. account for multiple entries under "Credits": Both the artist and the notecharter are typically the same for different server versions of the same song (by ID), but may be stated in different languages. For ease of cross-referencing, entries for some artists/notecharters include their English, Chinese, and Korean names.
  6. account for some official English song names on non-English language servers: i.e. some songs that originated from O2Jam Japan have English names but were never released on the International server, and their counterparts on O2Jam Korea have Korean names instead. (id:620,621)
  7. account for songs that originated from O2Jam X2 beta, which were eventually integrated into the current O2Jam
  8. account for the situation of the song files id:1001 to id:1005 -- These files were released on O2Jam China but were soon removed due to unresolved copyright issues.
  9. account for the situation of the song files listed after id:1056 -- These files belong to a sequel to O2Jam China created by 9you, and although this sequel has no affliation with mgames whatsoever, some of the song files in that game are in the same format as those found in O2Jam games. For that reason, some people who collect song files also consider them to be official O2Jam (format) song files.
  10. add borders. This is relatively unimportant, but should not be too difficult as the current wikitable structure is quite clean.

Arkansaw 12:31, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

can you transfer the song list to a new page? it's too long to be included in the article itself. Pasawayz 07:39, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
I agree, let's move it to another article. Chininazu12 12:14, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

I'm agreeable to the suggestion, anyone may do it. I will only have time for it maybe after early Dec. Arkansaw (talk) 04:07, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

Done, I moved the song list to List of songs in O2Jam. --Chininazu12 11:24, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Unhelpful text

I'll delete some text that isn't helpful to the article. --Chininazu12 07:42, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] POV removal

I've recently removed several instances of POV from this article, which seems to be a problem with rhythm game articles in general, not just this one. In particular, there were multiple gratuitous mentions of how O2Jam is similar to beatmania IIDX. While it may be, it's certainly not pertinent enough to put it at the top of an article, nor as an introduction to a gameplay feature of O2Jam. What might be appropriate instead is a comprehensive list of relevant reference links, such as to "rhythm game", "beatmania IIDX", and "DJMAX". 68.91.254.19 (talk) 09:48, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

I agree, even though it has a striking resemblance to BM IIDX, it should not be mentioned at all. --Chininazu12 07:46, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] O2Jam X2

Does anyone have any information about the third version of O2Jam, O2Jam X2? At least just for a start? Even though O2Jam X2's down already, it's still part of O2Jam. --Chininazu12 08:05, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

No idea what is happening for X2. But O2jam Korea is getting a revival from what I've heard. www.o2jam.com 218.186.34.54 (talk) 12:18, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Article for Deletion

Lately it appears there have been quite a few folks who came in here wanting to delete the article. Apparently they are not familiar with the game and cannot even be bothered to address the contributors on the talk page either. I guess since the game is quite dead officially, no one really cares now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 218.186.34.54 (talk) 00:53, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

Read WP:NPOV, and say that again if you can. --Chininazu12 13:36, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
