The NY Wiki is the city wiki of New York, New York. Started in 2008, the wiki emerged in the wake of emerging Web 2.0 technologies which rely on the immense power of users to generate content. The wiki is one of the fastest growing city wikis in the world,^{[citation needed]} and one of the first city wikis to be run on the MediaWiki framework, the same technology used to power Wikipedia.

The NY Wiki also offered several innovations over previous city-wiki technologies.
