[edit] Pronunciation

I'm trying to get the pronunciation in IPA, but I can at most note what I think is the English pronunciation /nuːrəliːjə/, which is obviously no good. What language is "Nuwara Eliya" supposed to be in? --Pablo D. Flores (Talk) 14:48, 25 December 2005 (UTC)

I assume that it's Sinhala, but I couldn't swear to that. The pronunciation in the opening of the text is a fair British English approximation, and the IPA, of which I know little, looks about right. Despite its apearance, it's definitely pronounced as four syllables rather than six. A wonderful place incidentally. jimfbleak 06:15, 26 December 2005 (UTC)
