Diagram of esophageal motility study for nutcracker esophagus. The image on the left is a schematic of the esophagus and three pressure recordings are taken: at the upper esophagus, lower esophagus and lower esophageal sphincter. The graph at the top indicates the time of two swallows. The disorder is peristaltic, with high pressure esophageal contractions exceeding 180 mmHg.
