Talk:Numbers
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
we talk about numbers quite often. now if we say math is a language it wont be wrong.every language has a base. Has something which is the fundamental base of a lanuage. what is the fundamental base of math by which u can define the whole of real world mathematics?
- its nothing but 0, 1 and infinity. by these 3 fundamental one can have any number of real world maths. but what does these three numbers represent. are these merely numbers that we write down on paper?
- i say mathematics represents life. it represents the truths of the world. whenwe look at it, we can find that mathematics is that lanuguage which has teh crux of every life.
- ONCE AGAIN WHAT IS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE THREE NUMBERS 0,1 AND INFINITY? MAY I CUDNT HAVE PUT MY DESIRE IN PROPER WORDS, BUT HAVE MY DESIRE PRETTY CLEAR.

- I have no idea what either of you are talking about. If by "fundamental base" you mean like "base ten" and "base 16" (hexadecimal), then there is *no* "fundamental base", it is arbitrary.

- But if by "fundamental base" you mean the basis on which math is built, then I would say either set theory, or natural numbers depending on what you mean.

Bold textwhat do you think about the connection between numbers and music?[ pythagoras ]--Ruczandra 16:46, 16 November 2006 (UTC)RucZanDraRedirect to Number ==
Should this page redirect to Number the most common usage. There is a link to a Number (disambiguation) at the top of that page.--Salix alba (talk) 09:21, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
- No, I don't think so. There are several articles disambiguated by this page that are actually for "Numbers" as a title: Numbers (Cat Stevens album), Book of Numbers, and Numb3rs (a la leet). RossPatterson 19:02, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Merge
I'm going to merge number (disambiguation) with this page, becuase theres no reason to separate. Fresheneesz 21:18, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] pythagoras had a point
what do you think about the connection that Pythagoras made between numbers and music?
