Nuclear Densometer Test

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Densometers are the accepted standard for measuring the porosity, air-permeability or air-resistance of sheet-like materials such as papers, wovens, plastics and membranes.

(NOT THE SAME THING)

A Nuclear Density Test provides a direct, instantaneous readout of soil moisture content, soil density, and percent proctor. There are two small radiation sources in the device that emit relatively weak radiation. When the sources are exposed to the soil a receiver measures time and intensity of received radiation to determine the soil properties.
