Novgorod Army Operational Group

The Novgorod Army Operational Group (Russian: Новгородская операционная армейская группа) was an operational manoeuvre group created on the 13 August 1939 in the Leningrad Military District by the order of People'ss Committee for Defence Chairman, marshal of Soviet Union K.E. Voroshilov No. 0129 which was reflagged on the 14th September 1939 as the 8th Army, with its head quarters in Pskov.
The Group was created for operations in Estonia and Latvia.
