[edit] Novels by author

User:Kevinalewis has been going around taking individual "Novels by..." categories (e.g. Category:Novels by David Brin) out of their parent "Books by..." categories. I do not understand this. Since when are novels not books? Is there a discussion someone can point me to that will explain it? (Or is he being unilateral?) --Paul A —Preceding unsigned comment added by Paul A (talkcontribs) 08:24, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

We are talking about this on our talk pages at present. I am not aiming the be unilateral. Please bear in mind that Books is not a logical superset of Novels. Although in the normal method of publication this may appear the case. We need to account in a logical scheme for clear superset, subsets. This might not appear necessary for many categories on wikipedia but in this "Works by" world it does need to be clear. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 08:44, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
by the way I was not "taking out" so much as "moving to" "Works by" categories. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 08:45, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
