[edit] Unblocked

I've unblocked you. I'm guessing that you misreverted re: Marian Rejewski and accidentally restored vandalism. -- Curps 02:34, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] What's-his-face

Hey look, what's-his-face's on Wikipedia. How's it going, what's-your-face? —Keenan Pepper 20:34, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

Yo! It's all good: only two months left of school, my wikipedia account is unblocked, and the 'pedia has a (legal) aerial pic of Rickards. ::angels sing:: Nice job with the tunings project. The world is better equiped to listen uncomprehendingly while us music geeks play the same thing over and over yelling about how different it is. Oh, by the way, I got quite a laugh out of your edit summary for the revert on 2C-I. Not a crystal ball indeed. ^_^ Cain 23:27, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

ZOMG, it's Cain. I bet you can't guess who this is. It is I. :) Frank

[edit] reply to this

"Grotesquely coded tables" are a part of Wikipedia, sorry. According to WP:SUB, all templates should be substituted with text, such as {{subst:welcomeg}}, instead of simply {{welcomeg}}. I personally think it is useful even just so that new users can see how stuff is built. It is my standard practice to do so, and every time I decide not to, some other user comes along and reminds me of the substitution practice, or changes it, as they did to your talk page. If you really don't like it, there are opportunities to make a case for not substituting. In this instance, your argument could be that not all new users need/want to see all the code behind things; that they simply wish to contribute knowledge, and not have anything to do with the backstage.

Also, FYI: any time you want to display some wikicode without having the results appear, type <nowiki>{{some template name}}</nowiki>, as I edited in your comment here (hope you don't mind). It takes some getting use to, but the code stuff is important, and since anyone CAN edit any page, they should at least be aware that this isn't some WYSIWYG editor, and that certain character combinations, indentations, brackets, and so forth, have consequences.

I look forward to your reply. - CobaltBlueTony 13:30, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Flamewar = no. Cascading misunderstanding = yes. Worth further discussion = no. Thank you for being intelligent, understanding, and above all, civil. Happy editing! - CobaltBlueTony 12:44, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
