[edit] Television
On television, Journaal bulletins can be seen on channels of the Publieke Omroep, the Dutch public broadcaster. Its flagship bulletin is at 8.00 PM on Nederland 1 - the most watched news programme in the Netherlands, with an audience of around 1.5 to 2.0 million viewers daily (around 1/5 of the market share around that hour). The 8.00 bulletin runs for 25 minutes. Other bulletins may vary in length, but evening broadcasts are overall longer than daytime ones.
[edit] Morning bulletins
The first Journaal broadcast of the day starts at 7am on weekdays and has a duration of approximately 5 to 10 minutes. The morning bulletins consists of news from the evening before and 'fresh' international news. In addition, the bulletins include sports news and a news in brief round-up known as 'Verder Vandaag'. These bulletins are presented from a studio located within the newsroom (Studio 10). The morning news is incorporated within the programme Goedenmorgen Nederland (Goodmorning Netherlands) on Nederland 1. The bulletins are repeated on Nederland 2. A new bulletin is shown on the hour every hour with the last morning edition broadcast at 10am.
[edit] Morning presenters
For the morning bulletins, the presenting team consists of:

[edit] Daytime bulletins

The 11am, 12pm, 2pm and 3pm bulletins run for ten minutes whilst the 4pm and 5pm broadcasts run for five minutes. The daytime news is simulcast live on Nederland 1 and Nederland 2 - which repeats the bulletin several times until the next live bulletin at the top of the hour. As with the morning news, the daytime bulletins are broadcast from studio 10.
On Fridays, the 5pm bulletin is followed by a live video webchat on NOS's website. Viewers can ask questions to the presenter of the 5pm broadcast and to their guest, usually someone linked to the main news of the week (such as a business correspondent who has reported extensively on the ABN Amro take over, for example).
On weekdays, the 4pm bulletin is also broadcast on the international Dutch-language television station BVN.

[edit] Branding
Short bulletins are broadcast on the top of every hour along with extended broadcasts on Radio 1 throughout the day. The latter broadcasts were formally known as Het Radio-1 Journaal, but were rebranded as NOS Journaal (Radio) in December 2005. News broadcasts on the popular music channel 3FM, as well as on the digital radiostation FunX, are known as NOS Headlines. Short news bulletins are most of the time preluded by countdown beeps and an announcement of the newsreader. For example, "11:00 uur. Jeroen van Dommelen met het NOS Journaal" (11 AM. Jeroen van Dommelen with the NOS Journaal.)
The NOS Journaal has a distinctive news tune, which is aired to mark the beginning or the ending of a broadcast or timeslot. It was composed by Jeroen Kuitenbrouwer.
[edit] Journaal Online
The NOS Journaal website features regularly updated news stories in text, as well as reports in audio and video. An archive of most of the NOS Journaal radio and television broadcasts is also featured, along with in-depth 'dossiers' and columns from correspondents around the world, additional background information on news stories and profiles about NOS Journaal's presentation team.
[edit] NOS Journaal 24
Since 2004, the NOS newsroom has broadcast NOS Journaal-24, a station consisting of repeats of NOS Journaal television broadcasts and Ceefax/Teletext news. This channel can only be seen online or on digital television through a limited number of cable operators.
