Just removed 'Nordic countries' from the disambiguation list. The 'Nordic' in 'Nordic countries' is not from 'Norse' but from French 'nordique' or simply 'northern'. The term 'Nordic countries' has fairly recently been introduced to the English language (via French) and meant as an equivalent to 'pays nordiques' or 'de nordiska länderna' (Scandinavian languages) or 'pohjoismaat' (Finnish). [edit] The word Norse
Where does the word come from. It's not a Scandinavian word as far i know. When and where was the word first used? --Comanche cph 18:30, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Finland
Why is Finland not a Norse country and why isn't Finnish a Scandinavian language? I really know nothing about the distinction, and can't readily find any info on Wikipedia. Softlavender (talk) 11:26, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
