Norepinephrine is a distinct entity from epinephrine. so it is mistaken to say that norepinephrine bitartrate is the bitartrate salt of epinephrine-- it is the bitartrate salt of norepinephrine.

I believe it is used as a stabilizing agent so that norepinephrine is not as easily oxidized. But that's what I'm trying to find out, so I don't feel comfortable editing this page.
