The Northwest Washington Fair is the only fair located in Whatcom County. The fair happens annually in August. The Northwest Washington Fair is located in Lynden, Washington. The fair brings more than 200,000 people to the area and makes over 1.6 million dollars.[1] The fair is always Monday through Saturday in August. Monday is always the Demolition Derby with various performers the rest of the week at the fairs' large Grandstands. Brad Paisley has performed in years passed along with Terri Clark, Clay Walker and George Canyon along with many other performers and shows over the years. There is also a small stage featuring more local performers.
Also the fair features a large display of FFA animals and other animal exhibits. With the farm heritage of Lynden the animals are a huge highlight of the fair with a 46,000 sq. foot barn showcasing all types of animals, there is also a large double wide cattle barn and countless horse barns. The fair features horse shows almost daily. Also there are countless animal contests and shows in the smaller barns.
The fair also features a large carnival and a lot of exhibitors. The fair has a large array of buildings for solicitors to set up there temporary shops. There are also spots to showcase homemade quilts, photographs, collections and other items.
