North St. Francois County R-1 School District

North St. Francois County R-1 School District is a school district in St. Francois County, Missouri. The district takes in students from the towns of Bonne Terre and Desloge, from the community of Terre du Lac, and from surrounding areas. The sports team name for the district is the Raiders, or Lady Raiders for the girl's teams, and the team's colors are blue and gold.

The primary mission of the North County School District is to provide the educational opportunities necessary to assist students in developing their intellectual, career, physical, social and emotional needs through participation in curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. The desired result of this participation would be the preparation of students to be successful in their own endeavors and to contribute positively to the society in which they live.[1]

There are five schools in the district. The smallest is Desloge Elementary, located at 100 North Parkside in Desloge, MO. It takes grades K-4. Bonne Terre Elementary also takes grades K-4, but has many more students and is located at 405 Hillcrest Drive in Bonne Terre, MO. North County Interrmediate School (grades 5-6) is located at 801 Elm Street in Desloge. North County Middle School (grades 7-8) is located at 406 E. Chestnut Street in Desloge. North County Senior High School (grades 9-12) is located at 7151 Raider Road in Bonne Terre. There is also a career center, UniTec Career Center, which is located at 7163 Raider Road in Bonne Terre, next to the High School.

The administration office is located on 300 Berry Road in Bonne Terre, near Country Mart.The administers are as follows: Mr. Yancy Poorman, Superintendent, Mr. Mike Henderson, Assoc. Superintendent, and Mr. Mike Jarvis, Asst. Superintendent.

There are seven board members. Keith Bannister, President, Lisa Umfleet, Vice President, Charles Farr, Secretary, Janice Neubrand, Tresurer, Alan Baranovic, Director, Jack Poston, Director, and Larry Joseph, Director.
