The North Sea Trail is a long-distance path linking seven countries and 26 partner areas in Northern Europe around the North Sea.

The project's aims are to support sustainable tourism and to explore the heritage of communities along the North Sea coast.

The seven countries are:

The project was oringinally part funded by the European Union through its Interreg IIIB North Sea Programme.

The project partners have decided to establish a North Sea Trail Association so that the Trail can be supported in the long term. The UK's representative on the Association is Aberdeen.

There is also a North Sea Cycle Route integrated with the North Sea Trail.
