North Royalton High School, celebrating its 100th Anniversary (1907-2007), is a public high school located in North Royalton, Ohio, a suburban community in the Greater Cleveland area with a population of 28,648. Approximately 1725 students attend North Royalton High School. It is a member of the North East Ohio Athletic Conference, the Lake Division. The school colors are royal purple and gold, and its mascot is the bear. The school's fight song is Ohio State's "Fight the Team Across the Field."

[edit] Ohio High School Athletic Association State Championships
The 1979 North Royalton Bears state champion soccer team is the 1st boys soccer team in the history of Ohio to finish the season undefeated at 21-0-0. [1]
The 2006 Varsity Lady Bears soccer team made it to state Semi finals. 16-4-2 season
The 2007 North Royalton Bear football team went 9-2 and made the post-season for the first time in the team's history. North Royalton lost to Solon 27-10.
[edit] North Royalton High School Marching Band
- In January 2008, the North Royalton HS Marching Band traveled to New Orleans to play during the BCS Sugar Bowl festivities at the New Orleans Superdome. The trip had been planned long before it was determined that The Ohio State University would be fighting (albeit unsuccessfully)for the national championship.
- Under the direction of band director Marty Lydecker, the North Royalton High School Band has appeared in the OMEA state marching band finals, earning Superior Ratings, since 1989. Assisted by Christopher Burdick, and NRHS alumni David Vitale, the band has made many appearances, including The 2003 Rose Bowl Parade, and the 2006 Indy 500 Parade and Festival, 2008 BCS Championship Game.
- The band has approximately 270 current members. During the 1999-2000 school year, 302 students were enrolled in the band program. This is the largest enrollment to date. The band was called "The Marching 300" by Cleveland's Plain Dealer.
- Cleveland Magazine named the North Royalton High School Marching Band "the best marching band in the Cleveland area" in 1998.
- Has received straight superior ratings at states for 17 consecutive years.

- The band breaks up into four separate concert bands (Freshmen Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble) after marching band season is over.
[edit] North Royalton Vocal Music Department
North Royalton High School Vocal Department has had at least one choir since it's founding.The oldest performing group is the Concert Choir made up of SATB singers from different grade-levels. In the 1980's North Royalton expanded to include "Royal Harmony", a non-competing SATB show choir. The founding of this group was due in large part to Kim Brickman's enthusiasm. In addition to choirs, the Vocal Department at North Royalton helps to produce an annual Musical each Spring.

[edit] The Dan Calabrese Center for the Performing Arts (PAC)
North Royalton High School's Performing Arts Center (PAC) (The Dan Calabrese Center for the Performing Arts) was built in the mid-1980s and has hosted a number of shows and events since. Up to this date, it has played host to the musicals Guys and Dolls, Annie, The Pajama Game, The Music Man, Grease, How to Succeed in Business..., Footloose, and Little Shop of Horrors.
It has also been the home of the North Royalton High School Spotlighters productions of Look Homeward, Angel, You Can't Take it With You, The Crucible, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Scapino, Our Town, and The Curious Savage.
The PAC has also been the home of many events such as the Royalton Rock-Off, which was a benefit concert showcasing a number of student-formed rock bands such as Blind Trust Kills, The Tracing, Age of Decadence, Burning Down Broadway and Arisen.
