The Metro Stars are a football (soccer) club from Adelaide, South Australia. Metro plays in the new South Australian Super League. They are based at T.K Shutter reserve in the north-eastern suburb of Klemzig. They have generally been a strong club and have dominated in the top division of South Australian Football.

[edit] History

The club was initially knows as the Metro Knights before a name change to the MetroStars in 1998. The club started playing in division 2 of the Saturday Amateur league in 1995. The club won promotion into Division 1 and quickly became the dominant side in the league. The club entered the SASF State League in 1999 and won promotion to the Premier League in their first season. Metro Stars have subsequently cemented their position in the top South Australian football league and have developed into one of the league's leading clubs in recent years. During the formation of the FFSA and the new Super League, Metro supported the new federation and in early 2006 was the first club to become a member of SA's new Super League.
