NC 128 is a short 6-mile state highway in North Carolina that does not meet, nor cross any other numbered route. Its southern terminus is at the Blue Ridge Parkway (mile marker 355) near where Buncombe County, Yancey County, & McDowell County meet. Traveling north along a curvy two-lane road, NC 128 enters Mount Mitchell State Park, where it ends at the park's parking lot below the summit of Mount Mitchell, the highest point in eastern North America. There is only one NC 128 shield known in existence along the route.
