Norman Francis Wilkinson (born February 16, 1931 in Alnwick, England) is an English former footballer. He started his career with Hull City. He joined York City in 1954, where he is the club's leading scorer. He joined non-league club Annfield Plain after retiring from league football.

[edit] Career

Wilkinson started his career at Hull City as an amateur, for whom he made eight appearances and scored three goals in the 1953–54 season.[2] He joined York City for a fee of just £10 in May 1954.[3][2] He scored twice on his debut in the 6–2 victory against Wrexham on the opening day of the 1954–55 season.[2]

He was apart of the team which played in the FA Cup semi-final in 1955.[4] Wilkinson is York's leading scorer with 143 goals.[2] He retired from league football in 1966 but continued on playing non-league football for Anfield Plain and also worked as a scout for York in the North-East.[3][2]

Norman still attends the occasional game at York City's ground.
