The view through the front window of a Tyne and Wear Metro train as it pulls into North Shields station with a coast-bound Yellow line service from St James.

Originally buiilt in 1890, this station was redeveloped along with much of central North Shields was redeveloped in the latter part of the 20th century. From here the line procedes towards Tynemouth through a short tunnel underneath the town centre - one of the few tunnels outside central Newcastle.
