Description
  • The Norcon was a small circular pillbox named after the company that manufactured it. It was made from a concrete pipe 6 feet diameter and 4 feet high with several cut loopholes. The large number of loopholes meant it was not the safest place to be but being quick to manufacture was its biggest asset, they could turn out about 20 a day the concrete being cured in about 24 hours but few were actually built. A roof made of timber and corrugated iron, and earth; extra protection was provided by the use of sandbags.
