[edit] Summary

Description Gilman, WI, USA

Drawing of the possible design of a fluorescent, neon, or other excited gas tube that uses an externally applied magnetic field to start a current flow in the gas contained inside the tube. This uses no electrodes to penetrate the glass, and eliminates gas leakage around electrodes and eventual tube failure due to thermionic emission.
