Nolok Babu is a young Bangladeshi vocal who has created sensation among music lovers in recent days. Nolok Babu emerged winner in the first-ever music talent hunt CloseUp1 "Tomake Khujche Bangladesh", (a program very similar to American Idol) winning the hearts of tens of thousands of Bangladeshi television viewers, who voted him to be the king.

He never received any formal training, nor had any knowledge about the grammar of music. Music is in his heart. He was born in such a struggling family in Jamalpur that he could not even afford to listen music at home.

Nolok is a versatile singer. Although folk song brings out best in his voice, in the Closeup1 contest, he showed his maturity in both modern and in oldies. In only last few months, Nolok became almost a myth. From the narrow roads of Jamalpur district to the stage in Dhaka to Manhattan Center in New York, he stood straight. Music lovers hope he will develop a great singer in him and enrich to main stream music in Bangla.
