Wikipedia and my interests
Hi! I’m a 20 year old sailor in the United States Navy. I'm originally from Eugene Oregon and left home in December of 2007 to join the Navy. Some of you might be wondering why, why would I join the United States military at a time when our country is at war? The answer is simple; I feel obligated to serve my country and give back to my country what has been given to me. It’s a generic answer, I know, but an honest one. However, I would be lying if I said that my parent’s career choices did not influence my decision to join the Navy; both of my parents spent time serving in their respective services. And because of their service, I’ve been to more than half of the United States, as well as Spain and Africa. It was in Spain, at the age of six, that I discovered my first love; football. Or as we Americans tend to call it, “soccer”. I’ve played the beautiful game for most of my life and was even recruited to play at the collegiate level for Northwest Christian College during their inaugural 2006-2007 season. If it were not for my decision to join the Navy, I have no doubt that I would still be playing for Northwest Christian.
I first discovered Wikipedia sometime during the summer of 2005 and used the site primarily for research on specific topics as well as just general reading about anything that interested me. Now that I have a registered account, I feel as if I am more of a part of this community striving to create something from essentially nothing. And as a part of this community, I am most interested in creating and editing articles on a wide variety of topics. My primary interests are the United States military, the states of Oregon and Florida, football (soccer), rock music, and Star Wars.
Please remember that I am human, and as such, I do make mistakes. If I’ve made a mistake somewhere and you’ve found it and know how to correct it, please, by all means do so.
