1. No free equivalent exists or can be created. Nog is a fictional character - all images of him are necessarily copyrighted.
2. This image respects commercial opportunities - a cropped screenshot cannot hope to meaningfully compete with a 44 minute episode, which also comes with sounds and bathroom breaks to boot!
3. This image represents a minimal use. Less than one frame of an episode of more than 50 000 frames. Additionally, a non-integer number of images would be hard to use.
4. This image has been previously published. Broadcast in the ST:DS9 episode "What you leave behind" and on DVD.
5. The image shows a major character from a series of television programmes which exert a strong influence on popular culture. It is encyclopedic.
6. The image meets general requirements for images.
7. The image is used in at least one article, Nog.
8. The image contributes significantly to the reader's understanding. Nog (as a Ferengi) has a truly bizarre appearance, that can only be captured through visual representation.
9. The image is used not but in the article namespace.
