Noel Prefontaine

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Noel Prefontaine (born December 23, 1973 in Camp Pendleton, California) is a punter / kicker with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League.[1]

Though born in the United States, Prefontaine moved with his family to Montreal, Quebec when he was seven years old, living there for the next five years of his life before moving back to California. Spending his childhood years growing up in a Canadian city enabled Prefontaine to be classified as a non-import player in the CFL.

Noel Prefontaine played collegiately for the San Diego State University (SDSU) Aztecs.

Prefontaine began his CFL career in 1998 with the Toronto Argonauts and spent the next ten seasons with them before getting traded to the Edmonton Eskimos on May 31, 2008 for a first round draft pick in 2009 and a conditional draft pick in 2010.[2]

In 2001, Prefontaine also played in the XFL with the Los Angeles Xtreme as their punter/kicker. He went on to play in the one and only XFL championship game on April 21, 2001 with the Xtreme, with his team ultimately winning the championship.
