This article talks a lot about things that come before and after channel coding. (I'm just as guilty, for adding a summary of the "modulation" step.) Shouldn't we trim this article down -- focus on channel coding -- and move all the other text to some other article that gives an overview of the whole process ? Perhaps telecommunication ? --DavidCary 30 June 2005 14:32 (UTC)

There wasn't really anything left in this article when the overview had been taken out, so I renamed it accordingly and made the old name (Channel coding) into a redirect to Error correction and detection. --PrologFan | Talk 22:36, 13 July 2005 (UTC)
