What is the difference between a Flight and a Squadron? Is it simply a matter of formation size? Bastie 15:28, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

A squadron, depending on it's mission, can consist of from 8 to 24 aircraft. A flight normally consists of four aircraft.

1439 flt. does not have any aircraft permanently assigned to them, it's Tornado F.3's are rotated in from different squadrons with thier crews.

Firstly it is 1435 flt. not 1439 flt. Secondly it does have permanent aircraft. Also i was wondering; I thought that desperation was made up when the phantoms came as there were only 3 original planes (faith, hope and charity)?
