No. 3 Squadron RAF Regiment is a field squadron of the RAF Regiment in the Royal Air Force. Its mission is protection of RAF bases from ground attack.
The squadron is currently based at RAF Aldergrove.

No. 3 Squadron RAF Regiment was originally formed as No. 3 Armoured Car Company on November 3, 1922. It operated throughout Southern and Eastern Iraq but was disbanded on April 1, 1925. It reformed on August 21, 1947 at Gutersloh, moving to Celle in October and Fassburg on December 1. On May 8, 1952, it moved to Jever and later to Gutersloh, where it disbanded on November 1, 1955. It re-formed on January 1, 1956 when No 168 Squadron was re-numbered at Oldenburg but it disbanded, once again on September 30, 1957. It reformed at Hullavington on July 27, 1987 and on February 1, 1988 it moved to RAF Aldergrove, where it is currently serving as a Field Squadron. [1]
