Nissin Top Ramen is the original instant ramen meal, introduced in the United States in 1970.

Nissin was founded by Momofuku Ando(March 5, 1910 – January 5, 2007), a Taiwanese entrepreneur and inventor. For his inventions, Ando has been nicknamed "Mr. Noodle" and the "Noodle Papa." Besides inventing the world's first instant noodles and cup noodles, Ando had humanitarian intentions. His experience in creating the first instant noodles led him to feel that the world would be at peace when there was enough food to feed everyone.
